The 2008 Carson City Rendezvous is pleased to make the following announcement:

We have received a grant from the Nevada Arts Council to support the traditional and folkloric singing, dancing, and music of early Nevada, as well as of the ethnic groups that, from earliest days, have made up the population of our state.
We are happy to say "This program has been funded, in part, by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency."

Nevada Arts Council National Endowment for the Arts

The Carson City Rendezvous has something for everyone. Living history at the Rendezvous will feature the Mountain Men in encampment with demonstrations of tomahawk & knife throwing, fire starting, and loadin’ & shootin’ muzzleloaders.
Great entertainment awaits you on the Main Stage, at the Mountain Man Stage and at the Gunfighter Stage. And all completely FREE. And don't forget to get your tickets early for Friday night's SILVER RENDEZVOUS CONCERT presented by the Brewery Arts Center. Click HERE for details. Concert Info

And speaking of Stages, take a ride on the Stagecoach in the big field and bring the young 'uns over to enjoy the Stick Horse Rodeo games with Gary the stage driver.

The Dutch Oven Cook-off on Sunday will be graced by two celebrity judges: Diane Mayfield and Omar Alvarez, the 2008 IDOS World Champions, just crowned at the IDOS World Championship Dutch Oven Competition event in Salt Lake City, Utah in March.

Civil War volunteers will also be camped at Rendezvous, where you can see camp life as it was and talk to the soldiers and other camp folks there. The Comstock Civil War Reenctors will also skirmish in the big field - schedule pending.

Town life in the late 19th century could be less than civilized on some occasions. The Gunfighter Stage, east of the creek, will be alive and a-blaze with gunfights and action of the old West. Our very own Nevada Gunfighters of Carson City, NV will host a great invitational with teams from throughout the West performing all weekend long:

Legends of the American West, from Angels Camp, CA
Spirits of the Old West, from Stockton/Lodi, CA
Black Bart Gunfighters, from Willits, CA
Pistols and Petticoats, from the Inland Empire, S CA
Pahrump Gunfighters, from Pahrump, NV
Guns and Gals of Old Virginia City, from Virginia City, NV
Missouri Bandits
Gunfighters, Inc.

Gunfighter ladies will put on (or off) a Victorian Fashion Show on the Main Stage Saturday afternoon.  The Indian Village features the colorful dancing of the Sage Spirit Dancers and, new this year, the Eagle Wings Pageant Dancers. This year, the BAC-In-Time Kids will be there with old fashioned games and hosting a Chinese Youth Dance Troupe. A Hispanic pueblo, and a delicious Dutch Oven Cook Off round out the event. Plenty of food, original and western-theme crafts, train rides, and camel rides are also featured.

The public is welcome at each encampment:

Mountain Man Encampment - life in the early 1800's, including contests of skill, music of the era, and trade goods
Civil War Encampment - re-enactment of the earliest period of Nevada statehood, both Union and Southern camps

Since 1984, people from all over the west have experienced this one-of-a-kind living history festival. Through re-enactments, demonstrations, and participation, the public is given an opportunity to experience our rich and colorful history. Rendezvous gives families an educational and fun opportunity to experience the lifestyles and traditions of a by-gone era. All of the groups that are a part of the Carson City Rendezvous take great pride in the accuracy and authenticity of their presentations.

The Carson City Rendezvous is and always has been a leader in historical tourism events, drawing approximately 30,000 people who patronize local businesses and use services and entertainment in our area. The Rendezvous has been nominated one of the top one hundred events in the United States by the Nevada Commission on Tourism.

The official program of the Carson City Rendezvous is a 16-page booklet we call the “Passport to the Past,” given FREE to all attendees.

After Rendezvous attendees get their “Passport” stamped at all encampments, they get a free gift. These gifts include sponsor promotional items. Pens, hats, t-shirts, mugs or anything with your name on it can be part of this year’s “Passport” gift program. The “Passport” encourages traffic and is also a keepsake memento because of the colorful stamps and the page dedicated to autographs of the stars at Saturday’s special performance. Your message is viewed not just at the event, but goes home with each attendee.

In addition, sponsors with a booth at Rendezvous will have an opportunity to stamp “Passports”, bringing the public into direct contact with your business.

Would YOUR BUSINESS consider being a part of this exciting and high profile event? This is a great “fit” for your community-oriented and promotional-minded company. You can get your message out, publicize your product and services, and boost name recognition while supporting this popular and well-attended event.

We will work with you to customize a sponsorship program tailored specifically for your company. Sponsorships run from $500 to $5,000 with something for every budget. Right-click to download a sponsor information packet below:
