Terminal Building
The City of Carson City constructed the airport terminal building in 1963 to serve scheduled passenger airline activities. 'The airport terminal building provides approximately 2,700 square feet of space and is located at the midpoint of the main apron area. while the terminal did accommodate schedule passenger activities on occasion in the past, there has been no scheduled passenger service at Carson City Airport since 1985. The terminal building has been converted, and now serves as a restaurant.
Aircraft Hangers
A wide variety of hangars are available at Carson City Airport for use in aircraft storage and repair. This includes individual enclosed T-hangars, individual Port-A-Port hangars, small clearspan hangars, and larger clearspan (conventional hangars). All hangars are privately-owned and operated.
There are 61 T-hangars units at Carson City Airport totaling approximately 86,700 square feet of storage space (This includes an 8-unit T-hangar complex recently constructed along Taxiway B). There are 31 individual Port-A-Pod hangars totaling approximately 46,000 square feet. Approximately 84,300 square feet of conventional hangar space is used by the Fixed Based Operators (FBOs) in providing general aviation services such as aircraft maintenance and repair and aircraft storage. An additional 51,569 square feet of hangar space is used for the private storage of aircraft. Approximately 38,300 square feet of hangar space is presently under construction northwest of the Taxiway B and Taxiway C intersection.
Fuel Storage
All fuel storage facilities at Carson City are privately-owned and operated. Fuel storage totals 42,000 gallons in four separate storage tanks. El-Aero operates two 12,000 gallon underground storage tanks located along the northwest apron area. Both 100LL and Jet-A is provided. Fuel is dispensed through mobile fuel trucks operated by El-Aero. Eagle Valley Fuel operates a self- service fuel island located north of Runway 9-27 along Taxiway B. Eagle Valley Fuel operates two 10,000 gallon above ground fuel storage tanks. Both 100LL and 130 octane fuel is available.
